Thank you for considering Audiobook Luke Productions for your audiobook. Narration and Production are offered as separate services, each billed per finished hour (PFH) — the length of the completed audiobook rather than the time it took to record it — unless otherwise noted. Hire me for narration, production, or both.
Narration
Starting rate, negotiable per project. Covers narration performed personally by Luke James — on multi-narrator projects, any other narrators’ fees are arranged separately by the author.
Physical Copy of the Book
The author may send the narrator a physical copy of the book, or the narrator may purchase one on the author’s behalf. If purchased by the narrator, the cost is invoiced as part of the remaining balance.
Production
Covers editing, proofing, and mastering, billed per finished hour.
Every Production Project Also Includes
A flat, one-time fee charged on every Production project — covers script preparation (per-role word counts and dialogue color-coding) plus general project administration.
Early Release (Optional)
A one-time optional fee for authors who’d like their finished audiobook distributed to an ALC team for early reviews, or self-distributed direct-to-reader through audiobookluke.com.

Sales Tax
Washington State sales tax (currently 8.3%) applies to the Production fee. The applicable rate will be confirmed and applied at the time of invoicing.
Deposit & Payment Terms
- A 50% deposit of the estimated fee for your service(s) is required for every project, due no later than seven (7) business days before work is scheduled to begin. The remaining 50% is due upon completion and delivery of the final files.
- For Production projects, the $90 script prep & administration fee is due before production begins.
- The $30 early release fee, if elected, is due before production begins.
- Any narrator-purchased book copy is invoiced as part of the remaining balance.
